Absence, Leave & Late Arrival

What to do when a student is absent, needs planned leave, or arrives late — and how each is recorded.
Unplanned Absence
For sudden illness or emergencies that come up on the day itself.

Inform The Class Teacher
Call the school office or message on the school app before 9:00 AM on the day of absence.

Submit A Written Note
On return, submit a note in the student diary explaining the reason for absence, signed by a parent.

Medical Certificate (If Applicable)
For illness lasting more than 3 days, a doctor's certificate must be submitted along with the note.

Catch Up On Missed Work
Students are responsible for catching up on missed classwork, homework and notes.
Planned Leave
For travel, family functions or any absence known about in advance.

Submit A Leave Application
Write a formal leave request addressed to the class teacher or Principal, stating dates and reason.

Apply At Least 3 Days Ahead
Planned leave requests should reach the school office at least 3 working days before the leave.

Extended Leave Needs Approval
Leave beyond 10 consecutive days requires prior written approval from the Principal.

Leave During Exams
Leave during examination periods is granted only in genuine emergencies, with documentation.
Late Arrival
What happens if a student arrives after the gates close for the day.

Report To The Front Office
Students arriving after the gate closes must report to the front office before heading to class.

Late Entry Is Recorded
A late entry is logged in the attendance system and reflected in the student's monthly record.

Repeated Lateness
Frequent late arrivals result in a note to parents and, if continued, a meeting with the class teacher.
4
Genuine Delays
Delays due to traffic, weather or transport issues can be explained via a note in the diary.
